What We've Done

Private Sector

In the private sector we work with companies who need to attract, develop and retain talented people.

These companies are fishing for talent in an ever shrinking pool. Recruiting costs rise every year and retaining good staff proves more and more difficult.

Just recruiting one graduate with no business experience often involves a layout of between 100 to 150% of their annual salary. Most of our work in this sector is about helping companies develop a collaborative way of working by fostering a mentoring and coaching culture. Our work may start with a pilot mentoring programme in one particular business unit or for one specific group of people but word soon spreads.

Our work for the consultancy KPMG is typical.

Initially the need was to encourage female fee earners to develop and achieve more senior positions. Our mentoring programme focused on taking control, achieving impact, influencing skills and business networking.

It ran for nine months in one department and was so successful that other departments wanted a programme and men wanted in too. Three years on and the mentoring programme has spread across other departments and is open to men and women.
